INFORMATION & LINKS

Welcome to the anglingfor.co.uk website. Since 1999/2000 we have been collecting and storing records for coarse fishing- species caught and the conditions they have been caught in. Over a long period of time we have built up a unique record which we have used to try to assess the behavior of fish and their feeding patterns. Our aim was to try to discern which conditions each species favoured and to see what triggered feeding behavior. By storing this information, and importantly, even blank days, we believe we have achieved a broader understanding of how these conditions work in relation to fish behavior and their feeding patterns. By looking at these records and converting them into easily understandable statistics we can show which trends different species of coarse fish follow in their feeding patterns. By using a computer to do this for accuracy and using the information to produce programs, information sheets etc, we have been able to produce products that can really help you catch more consistently.

Experienced anglers will probably agree that it is not often they catch several species at the same time, that in fact it is usually only one or two species that are active on any given day. That this can change quite frequently from one day to the next or sometimes longer but, it invariably does change. There are seasonal influences but, even quite subtle changes in the conditions can put one species down and yet, favour another, which will come to the fore. It is very rare in the natural world that all species will all feed at the same time. Of course the reasons for this are varied but, for coarse fish, the conditions of temperatures, weather, seasons etc play a big part in deciding which species is going to be the most active; this is the way nature/evolution works. By studying and sorting our records we have been able to discern which conditions are the ideal for each species. And therefore, which species are the best targeted given the conditions of the day.

We produce on the 1st of every month a “month/moon table” which can be viewed any time on our website. This is based on our records for moon phases month by month and the species that have proved to be the most active during those month/moon phases. However, for a really good assessment of the conditions we recommend you try our coarse fishing program as this takes into account a lot more than just the month and moon phase. However, the table is interesting - MONTH/MOON TABLE CLICK HERE

We have been testing this program in real fishing situations since 2005 and have achieved excellent results from it. We have produced a program that will analyse the conditions for you and thereby give some real help in deciding what to fish for. Of course your own knowledge of methods, baits, venues etc is a big asset but, we believe the program can enhance your fishing and improve your catch rate over a period of time. Not only that, we are sure you will find it informative and enjoyable to use. We have also developed a diary/program that you can use yourself so you can record your own catches. This will with patience and little bit of your time become a really useful asset to all of your fishing. The diary contains over 40 graphs that are updated automatically to show you which baits are working, which venues are best for each species etc. Plus, in time as you build up your own records, a means of discerning which is the best species, venue etc to fish; based on your own records, not ours. We can not recommend trying these enough as we know they will provide you with a lifetime of enjoyment, interest and really helpful information. There is also a game-fishing diary/program and a sea-fishing diary program adapted from the coarse fishing module. PROGRAMS CLICK HERE

Apart from the programs we have produced other products based on the statistics which you will find on this website, books, calendars etc which we hope you will consider looking at. OTHER SALES CLICK HERE
